Video Games: The Only Media That Lets You Throw a Penguin Off a Cliff

Video games have always been a passion of mine. I’ve been playing since I knew what a controller was—granted, most of that time was spent throwing the baby penguin off the cliff in Super Mario 64, but exploring Peach’s castle and jumping into different worlds instilled a sense of wonder that has never left me.
Growing up, I envisioned myself as a Pokémon Champion with an elite team. A wizard with untapped magic. A knight destined to save the world—or a cute and charming princess. I could be a hero in every world I visited. Even now, as an adult, that same immersive experience remains. Some days, I’m a Witcher savant tackling work challenges through innovation. Other days, I’m a security guard barely surviving against animatronics—or against customers insisting I commit insurance fraud. Then, I’m a Destiny 2 Sherpa helping fellow Guardians navigate endgame raids—or in my actual job, a client profile.
After dedicating most of my life to video games, connecting with other players, and becoming immersed in the industry, I’ve realized something: I’m not alone in this obsession.
